LOUISVILLE, KY, November 3, 2014 – The Olin Brass CuVerro® team will again be in attendance when the annual Healthcare Design Conference (Video) convenes next week in San Diego. Olin Brass is the nation’s premier provider of bactericidal copper alloys under its brand, CuVerro®.
This year will mark the sixth consecutive year that CuVerro products will be represented at HCD, which is widely recognized as the foremost event devoted to the design of healthcare facilities and environments. Over 4,000 participants are expected for this year’s conference, which is themed “Better Care Through Better Design” and runs November 15-18 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Products made with CuVerro will be well represented on the floor of the Exhibit Hall. In addition to the CuVerro exhibit at Olin Brass’ booth (Booth #1707), products featuring CuVerro touch surfaces will be displayed by three manufacturing affiliates, Colonial Bronze (Booth #1706), Just Manufacturing (Booth #1901), and Eaton’s Cooper Lighting featuring items from Cooper Wiring Devices (Booth #427).
As always, company representatives in attendance will be on the lookout for product developers and manufacturers interested in joining the CuVerro strategic affiliate network. The CuVerro team will also be focused on connecting with end users – that is, key hospital and healthcare network decision makers – for whom products made with CuVerro have the most to offer.
CuVerro® bactericidal copper alloys are manufactured by GBC Metals, LLC, doing business as Olin Brass, a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Brass and Copper, Inc. which is a subsidiary of Global Brass and Copper Holdings, Inc., the leading manufacturer and distributor of copper, copper-alloy and bactericidal copper sheet, strip, plate, foil, rod, ingot and fabricated components in North America and one of the largest in the world. GBC Metals engages in the melting, casting, rolling, drawing, extruding and stamping of specialized copper and copper alloys finished products from scrap, cathode and other refined metals.
*Laboratory testing shows that, when cleaned regularly, CuVerro surfaces kill greater than 99.9% of the following bacteria within 2 hours of exposure: Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter aerogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. coli O157:H7, and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus faecalis (VRE). The use of CuVerro® bactericidal copper products is a supplement to and not a substitute for standard infection control practices; users must continue to follow all current infection control practices, including those practices related to cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces. This surface has been shown to reduce microbial contamination, but it does not necessarily prevent cross contamination. CuVerro® is a registered trademark of GBC Metals, LLC.
